Saviola supports Design Mind, an Academy that combines design culture and multidisciplinary approach, with 5 scholarships for young talents in the world of architecture. Design Mind becomes the protagonist at Fuorisalone with its community of students selected to reflect on contemporary design starting from key words such as care and curiosity, land and territory.

After the success of the campus in the Piedmont village of Castellania Coppi last July, the Academy of Design founded by Lorenzo Palmeri and Paolo Casicci to combine psychology and design in an educational approach innovative, chooses the Fuorisalone for its second edition.
Designed for the week that transforms the Lombard capital into an international open-air playground, populated with presences, events and exhibitions dedicated to the project in all its forms. The new Academy campus is a design adventure that frees students’ energies in the design capital, calling them to map the territory with the filter of a series of inspiring keywords that will be identified in a common work that will put students and partner companies to work around a table. Knowing how to see to transform, care, curiosity, land and territory will be among the thematic clusters that will provide the key to a critical approach to the dynamics of transformation that design has always been active in the urban area.
“We chose to hold the second edition of the Academy during the Fuorisalone”, explain Palmeri and Casicci, “because we consider a challenging educational experience in the week when design looks at the world and the world looks at design, declined in all its forms and manifestations. Milano Design Week is a playground with endless possibilities: making it available to students is an extension of the mission written in the DNA of Design Mind”.

If in this edition the scene and the range of action of the Academy change, its values and objectives remain intact, which are to train aspiring designers to an inclusive and sustainable approach to land and land. A thread links the small Piedmont village of Castellania Coppi, full of history, culture and excellence where the summer school of DesignMind was staged last July. The world capital of design: the will of the Academy to measure itself with the concrete needs of the territory according to an approach that enhances its DNA, specificity and vocation, regardless of the extent of the area in which and for which students plan and operate.
The days of DesignMind will start every morning, from Monday 15 to Friday 19 April, with a breakfast in the spaces provided by Mercato Centrale, the hub of quality food active at the Central Station.
On Tuesday 16, the Academy will visit Cuore, the new space of Triennale Milano dedicated to the archive, study and research, where at 10.30 am Andrea Gaggioli, Professor of General Psychology at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan and director of the Center for Studies and Research in Psychology of Communication and International Master in User Experience Psychology will hold the lecture Transformative Experience Design: Design immersive experiences for positive change.
During the week, students will visit the spaces, in the city and at the fair, of the partner companies. Thursday 18, from 11 to 13, at the Lost BertO in via Morimondo 25, the dialogue Energy design, music and design buildings, with the musician Saturnino, Lorenzo Palmeri and Filippo Berto.
The Italian Institute of Photography is a partner of Design Mind: the students will follow the development of the Academy during the Design Week with their story by shot.
“We chose to call our academy DesignMind” explain the founders “because we consider it strategic to bring in the training of designers a service that is still missing: what translates into a deep support to students as well as the teaching staff to face all those issues related to the craft of the designer, but rarely considered in educational facilities as, to make examples, error management, failure, economic demand, insecurity.
There are many constellations that make up the galaxy of design: for this reason, throughout the week, a coach will assist the students to evaluate their background through the portfolio, to support them in the choice of a precise direction in the variety of future training and professional hypotheses”.
They have chosen to support with us the second edition of Design Mind, through scholarships dedicated to students, also Berto Salotti, Ento and Alce Nero.
