Ecological Panel® Saviola at Musée des arts décoratifs

It is increasingly common that the art’s world wants to contribute with its curatorial choice to the preservation of the environment.

But it is when the choice of the Musée des Arts décoratifs of Paris on the way to the Louvre, falls on the Ecological Panel® for the installation of the exhibition “Private Lives: from the bedroom to social media”, the perfect harmony between selection of content and container is realized.

The exhibition, which includes 470 works of art including paintings, photographs and decorative objects, explores the evolution of the private sphere from the 18th century to the present. Through the work of artists, photographers, architects and designers, we tell about the change in the perception of intimacy: from the wrought iron bed of the nineteenth century to the more modern “litclos” of the Bouroullec brothers

The exhibition, curated by Fulvio Irace, historian of architecture and design and Christine Macel, curator of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, reflects on the evolution of interior architecture and the transformation of the concept of intimacy in modern society.

For this installation, 64 square meters of panels were used, chosen from the pastel tones of the Saviola collection, equivalent to 146 trees saved, demonstrating how art can be a powerful vehicle to promote sustainable design.

From 15 October 2024 to 30 March 2025 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in the Louvre Palace in Paris.
